Benefits & Culture
The salary for this position will be FJD 130,000 - 160,000. Citizens of Pacific island nations are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Role
Reporting to the Asia Pacific Regional Director, the Pacific Director will lead the vision, strategic planning and institutional development of the country offices in the Pacific. As a proven leader with the capability of growing an organisation’s impact and building future leadership and talent pipelines, the Pacific Director will also bring high level negotiation, collaboration and influencing skills, with the capacity to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the region, promoting the vision and objectives of WWF Pacific’s strategic plan.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the Pacific region is effectively and efficiently managed in all key areas – conservation, operations, finance, people & culture, communication, marketing, fundraising and policy and partnerships. Specifically you will;

  • Provide overall direction and leadership in developing and executing the Pacific region’s strategic objectives
  • Continuously strengthens WWF’s profile, reputation and credibility
  • Initiate and lead strategic partnerships, ensuring effective communications with all stakeholders
  • Develop a realistic, well planned long term strategy and meet fundraising targets
  • Ensure an excellent understanding of risk-based approaches to managing projects and programmes
  • Represent Pacific region in key internal network and external forums

Required Skills & Experience

  • Professional experience in a leadership role, preferably with an NGO or like-minded business
  • University degree in conservation, business management, international relations, development or related fields
  • Proven track record in successfully developing, leading, and managing large-scale programmes and/or institutions
  • Successful track record in fundraising and superior oral and written communication skills in English and other local languages
