We are recruiting the role of People & Culture Business Partner, Asia Pacific for our Asia Pacific team to help us achieve our new ambitious goals, and build a future where people live in harmony with nature.

Location: based in a country where WWF International operates in Asia Pacific

Line managed: Head of People & Culture, Asia Pacific

Mission of the Division:

  • To advise and support leaders in creating a culture of collaboration, innovation and results focus in WWF;
  • To embed the desired behaviours and values in all key People & Culture (P&C) processes across the organization;
  • To develop the right P&C standards, policies, procedures and platforms in-order to attract, develop and retain the right people for the organization;
  • To create the optimal working environment in which the staff are able to perform at the highest level and hence are able to maximize their contribution towards the conservation goals;
  • To drive the WWF network towards common approach to people development, global mobility, leadership development, rewards philosophy and gender diversity;
  • To provide efficient and effective P&C services to WWF International.

Major Functions: To support the implementation of global P & C policies, procedures and systems within Asia Pacific; ensure adherence to Network Standards for P & C good practice, and compliance with all local labour laws and other statutory requirements in the countries of operation. To support building the capacity of Asia Pacific country office P&C team members.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Support to Asia Pacific Country offices

  • Provides support and guidance to the country based Human Resources team across the full range of HR processes, including but not limited to Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment, Learning and Development
  • In consultation with the Head of People & Culture Asia Pacific, coordinates delegated Global P&C initiatives and projects within the region including collation of annual salary reviews, global insurances, global training and development initiatives
  • Provides technical guidance, support and backstopping to P&C teams at country level where appropriate
  • Supports country level P&C investigations as and where necessary

Regional level People & Culture activities

  • Supports the Head of People & Culture, Asia Pacific in the implementation of WWF Network standards related to P&C policies and practices and ensuring compliance with local labour laws and other statutory requirements in Asia Pacific countries, and follow up to local and regional audit findings and actions;
  • Works with the Country P&C team to coordinate annual salary reviews, ensuring compliance to global principles, timeframes are adhered to and signoffs are provided;
  • Seek advice from Global C&B team for exceptional proposals related to C&B and appropriate approvals are obtained;
  • Supports the Head of People & Culture, Asia Pacific to implement training and development strategies and actions to address identified needs and improve the skills and career development opportunities of Regional Leadership and Country Management teams;
  • Supports the Head of People & Culture, Asia Pacific in the implementation of leadership development, talent management, succession planning and performance management initiatives in line with that of WWF International policies;
  • Coordinates the rollout and implementation of the Global HRIS in Asia Pacific – an initiative by WWF International by rolling it out in countries;
  • Coordinates regional recruitment including advertising, shortlisting, interview coordination, reference checks, salary design, coordinating contracting at country level and on boarding of regional staff;
  • Coordinates hosting agreements and appropriate documentation between hosting and recipient office for staff secondments, exchange programmes within WWF or external partner organisations, to and from Asia Pacific offices;
  • Responds to queries and requests for information on HR policies, working conditions, and performance management systems;
  • Coordinates Asia Pacific P&C data and statistics and provide regular reports and analysis to the Head of People & Culture, Asia Pacific to facilitate continuous improvement;
  • Works with Regional Finance teams to ensure GMPO people costs are reported accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Participate in Global P&C Community events and initiatives
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Head of People & Culture, Asia Pacific or his/her designate.

Profile:

Required Functional Skills:

  • An advanced university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field;
  • Experience working experience in a Human Resources and Operations position preferably in a major international organisation/NGO;
  • Demonstrable skills in the development of Human Resources and Operations procedures and systems preferably in the context of an international NGO or business environment;
  • Knowledge of and/or appreciation of the human resource management practice in Asia Pacific countries
  • Excellent English and knowledge of local languages an asset;

Required Behavioural Skills:

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external clients, and focus on being service oriented;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an aptitude for problem solving, decision making and details;
  • Excellent advisory skills and ability to promote team synergy in a multicultural work environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, discretion and impartiality) are essential for this position;
  • Strong team-player with ability to work in virtual teams;
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of individuals within a broad range of cultural environments, especially in the Asia Pacific context;
  • High level of good organisational and administrative skills with an ability to work well under pressure;

WWF International can offer you:

Contract duration: 2 year fixed term contract with possible extension
