WWF-Myanmar is now inviting applications for Consultancy for Aquaponic Project who will be worked workingstarting for about 5 months with home-based.
from end of March to June 2022 with frequent field visits across Myanmar especially in Yangon, Mandalay and Ayeyarwaddy regions.

Objectives of the consultancy
The main objective of the consultancy is to support the agriculture team with creating and implementing a three-stage aquaponic system. This system is expected to encourage farmers to solve the food crisis and to reduce environmental pressure due to overfishing and encroachment of the forest. Once the design is produced, the consultancy is expected to implement a successful prototype in a community agreed upon with WWF Myanmar office. The village will be selected based on the following:
- Community willingness to participate.
- Availability of required materials.
- Safety and security standards.
- Available implementation space (for application reference, the prototype is expected to measure 28x15m2.
The final requirement of the consultancy is to create a ToT manual that can be used by the WWF Myanmar team, jointly with the blueprints, to replicate the aquaponic experience in the villages that are relevant for the office conservation program.

Requirements
- An expert on aquaponics systems with minimum of 7 years working experience in the implementation of aquaponics systems.
- An agriculture expert with 5 years or working experience, ideally with knowledge of Southeast Asian plants.
- A fish expert with 5 years or working experience and knowledge of Southeast Asian freshwater animals.
- An expert on water sanitation with 5 years of working experience and knowledge on traditional and low-tech sanitation systems.
- 5 years of pedagogical experience linked to agricultural and fishing practices, ideally with audiences with limited educational backgrounds.
- 5 years of working experience with agricultural communities in rural and forest areas of Myanmar.
- 5 years of working experience with the implementation of agriculture diversification projects in Myanmar.
- 5 years of working experience with Myanmar agriculture and fish markets.
How to apply
For the application process the consultancy companies are expected to submit:
- CV of all the applicants.
- An outline of the expected content of each of the three delivery products.
- In case the team considers that some of the requirements can’t be satisfied, specify which are these, as this will allow the WWF office to find potential matching calls.
- In case the team considers some of the requirements discussed in the ToR should be modified or can be enhanced, a justification for it.
- A portfolio of previous projects that are similar to those requested in the three project deliverables
- Financial proposal: disaggregated by deliverable, expert hours, and, for the case of deliverable, separating the consultancy-related costs with the expected construction materials costs and construction worker costs.
