We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly qualified Fundraising and Partnerships Manager to ensure continued funding through maintaining the existing sources, while innovatively looking out for new opportunities to support conservation work for WWF Uganda Country Office (UCO).

The Role:
The Fundraising and Partnerships Manager shall lead the development and implementation of the WWF UCO resource mobilization strategy to increase resource generation and diversify funding sources through proactive engagement with international funding agencies and development partners, government and non-government funding agencies, foundations local and international companies, private businesses, individuals and other innovative fundraising options to fund implementation of the conservation strategy.
Main Responsibilities:
- Research conservation funding opportunities from statutory, private sector, corporations, High Net worth individuals (Major donors) and Individual funders (small sum).
- In liaison with the Programme teams, prepare high quality proposals / Grant applications that meet specific donors' expectations and are in line with WWF fundraising and engagement guidelines.
- Implement the fundraising strategy and develop annual fundraising plans and budgets in line with WWF-UCO’s strategic objectives.
- Build relationships / Partnerships with major donors and / or private sector companies and make presentations on fundraising opportunities.
- Explore and Identify potential donors, trusts, foundations, government agencies and other bodies and develop strategies to access these funds Map, research and select companies/sectors with high partnership potential and conduct due diligence processes to support corporate partnerships and mitigate risks of partnership attrition
- Organize and coordinate fundraising campaigns/events and marketing efforts including, but not limited to; face to face, web, telemarketing, greeting cards, corporate and philanthropic giving, community, bequest, print advertising while incorporating innovative funding solutions (digital marketing, crowd funding etc.) and in line with WWF-UCO’s strategic objectives.
- Maintain organized hard and soft files of all fundraising information ensuring that records are up to date, accessible and that all new contacts and correspondence has been entered.
- Build capacity for technical conservation staff on writing successful grants and other relevant technical areas in fundraising and partnership management.
What you need:
Qualifications and experience
A Master’s degree in Economics, development studies, Business administration, Social Sciences, international Development, Marketing or related field. At least five (5) years proven experience of successful networking and fundraising in at least one of the areas of: public sector partnerships, major donors, trusts/foundations or corporate fundraising. Experience of creating and implementing a fundraising strategy for new markets. Proven track record of generating significant gifts, preferably in the context of an international organization. Experience and expertise in developing relationships with institutional donors, high net worth individuals or corporations. Experience working in a similar role with INGOs preferable.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong Fund raising, resource mobilization and negotiation skills. Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills including ability to build relationships with potential donors. Energetic, proactive and capable of working independently as well as being an active member of a multi-cultural team. Strong inter-personal skills with ddemonstrable ability to plan, action and prioritize own workload with minimum supervision.
