World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world's leading conservation organization, seeks a Program Associate, for the Russell E. Train Education for Nature Program (EFN) at our Washington, DC office. Under the direction of the Director, the Program Associate works to support EFN's goal of developing capacity for conservation worldwide through grant administration and program support for major activities.
- Contract administration – is a significant part of this job; up to 70% of the job function. The person in this role supports and monitors preparation of agreements for grantees and consultants. Ensures agreements and payments are processed timely and in accordance with WWF policy and procedures, identifying problems and formulating recommendations for corrective action as appropriate. Prepares paper work for approval, secures signatures, and distributes documents to appropriate parties. Follows up on contract deliverables and other requirements. Updates project tracking database to ensure information is accurate.
- Program support - Stays current on issues related to program areas of focus and provides preliminary review of applications submitted for funding. Serves as point person to a growing network of current and past program grantees. Helps review applications and provides input on global conservation capacity needs.
- Financial support - Reviews and processes payments for credit card transactions and invoices, inputs proper coding into financial system, prepares check and/or wire requests, handles re-classes and serves as the liaison with accounting to track payments.
- Administrative support - Helps manage administrative tasks for the department, including forms, business correspondence, and other materials. Drafts replies, refers inquiries to appropriate staff member. May assist with meeting planning, travel arrangements, and other general office duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. A degree in International Education is a plus.
Must have two years of relevant experience. Prior conservation experience is a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must feel comfortable working in a team dynamic
Initiative, ability to prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
The person in this role will be interacting with field staff and colleagues across the WWF network around the world; cultural sensitivity is essential
French language skills strongly desired
Previous experience living or studying abroad is a plus
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and specialized databases to create documents, reports, and logs
